Blackburn Rovers and Nottingham Forest both go into this weekend’s clash in good form, and will be hoping to continue their good form.
Blackburn Rovers have only won once in their last three league games, but remain unbeaten since their 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Bristol City. Rovers out up a courageous fight against Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup in midweek, as a much changed side lost 3-2 to a 94th minute goal from striker Callum Wilson.
Nottingham Forest come into this weekend’s clash off the back of a 3-2 win against Stoke City in the Carabao Cup, winning their last three games in all competitions. Aitor Karanka’s 10-men held off a Stoke fightback in the second half after going 3-0 up with 50 minutes gone.
Rovers captain Charlie Mulgrew is set to return to the starting 11, after missing the previous two matches through illness. Danny Graham, Bradley Dack, Richie Smallwood, Corry Evans and Elliott Bennett are all set to return to the match day squad after being rested for their midweek clash with Bournemouth. Derrick Williams will miss out through suspension, after he was sent off against The Cherries on Tuesday. Ben Brereton will also be unavailable, with parent-club Forest coming to Ewood Park.
Nottingham Forest will be without winger Diogo Goncalves, who sent off against Stoke City and will now serve a three match suspension. Much like Tony Mowbray, Aitor Karanka fielded a much changed side in the Cup, and is set to reintroduce the players he rested for tomorrow’s match. Tendayi Darikwa, Michael Dawson, Tobias Figueiredo and Liam Bridcutt all impressed against The Potters, and could force their way into the team. Daryl Murphy has also recovered from injury and will hope to come back into the squad.
