Blackburn Rovers put on a courageous display against Premier League side Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup, but ultimately fell at the final hurdle, as Callum Wilson scored a 94th minute goal for the Cherries.
Despite missing some key first team players – including Bradley Dack, Darragh Lenihan and Charlie Mulgrew – Rovers fought back from 2-0 down through goals from Adam Armstrong and Craig Conway. However, Derrick Williams slipped late on and handled the ball, leaving Tony Mowbray’s side a man down.
It looked like Rovers were set to crawl over the line, until striker Callum Wilson headed in from a corner, leading to mixed reactions from fans.
At the same time, Rovers fans will be feeling proud that a much changed side travelled over 500 miles to give high-flying Bournemouth a tough game. But, some will be left worried by the fact their side have conceded yet another late goal through a lack of concentration.

This is something @Rovers have needed to work on for years…. defend too early and always let late goals in. Disappointing to say the least

In the grand scheme of things probably the best thing that could happen for us, we can focus on more important things now. Onwards and hopefully upwards
