“Good solid pro, just what we need” – Bradford City fans react to the signing of Jim O’Brien

Bradford City have announced the signing of midfielder Jim O’Brien on a free transfer, confirmed by the club website.

Jim O’Brien has a wealth of experience within, which includes spells at Scottish giants Celtic and Motherwell. Meanwhile, in England he has had spells with Coventry City, Scunthorpe United, Shrewsbury Town and Barnsley, and now will add Bradford City to this list.

Jim O’Brien said: “I am really excited to be officially joining the club, it is something I have been working towards for a while.”

“I have had to be patient but the gaffer is happy with where I am at fitness-wise and they believe I can add something to the team.”

“This is a massive club and it is a real privilege to be here. The fanbase is fantastic and I will give my all.”

“It is a relatively short-term deal, so I have an opportunity to earn a longer-team contract.”

“When you play for a big club there is always pressure. But I am determined to work hard and make the most of the chance I have been given by David.”

Bradford City head coach David Hopkin spoke about signing Jim O’Brien: “We are delighted Jim has agreed to join us.”

“He is a very experienced player and he will bring a lot to the table.”

“Jim adds to what we have. We aren’t interested in just signing any player. We have to know they can make a difference.”

“He has trained with us this week and will hopefully come into the mix for Saturday.”
