Two key players are set for Leeds return and provide huge boost

Pablo Hernandez and Adam Forshaw are set to return to the fold after the international break. Adam Forshaw hasn’t played yet this season after picking up an injury in pre-season and Pablo Hernandez had a hamstring injury sustained at the 0-3 win at Norwich City.

This news couldn’t come at a better time given the situation that has been revealed today. A four-month injury to Patrick Bamford and the news that Gaetano Berardi isn’t fit for the trip to Millwall. Heading into the Millwall game Berardi would probably be the first name on the team sheet and Bamford provides the other option in attack with Kemar Roofe now having some serious pressure on him until at least the new year. The likes of Tyler Roberts and Ryan Edmondson may have to play a part in that role until Bamford returns.

Pablo Hernandez picked up a problem in the win at Norwich, a game that he dominated from the moment he clipped a ball into Alioksi in the build-up to Mateusz Klich’s opening goal. He is having arguably his best spell in a Leeds shirt this season Marcelo Bielsa actually saying he’s teaching the Argentine things rather than the other way around. We missed Hernandez so badly in the 0-0 draw against Middlesbrough and it was blatantly obvious. His return is a huge boost to the side, especially with us looking to avoid a repeat of the spectacular flop of last season.

Adam Forshaw is a very different return. A player that was, and is set to be a key part of the plans in Marcelo Bielsa’s system but has watched on as his place was taken by Mateusz Klich, for me, and many Leeds United fans the player of the season so far. Forshaw will add experience, energy and some serious ability on the ball. Both Kalvin Phillips and Mateusz Klich will need a rest at some stage, the latter has been on international duty this week and the return of Forshaw means they may get that.
