Joining Nottingham Forest is a ‘great honour’ says new midfielder

Panagiotis Tachtsidis, Nottingham Forest’s new Greek central midfielder, has expressed his delight as joining a ‘big club’ with a ‘very talented squad’. The former Olympiacos man has signed a contract at the City Ground until the summer of 2020.

Aitor Karanka perhaps does not necessarily need another player in this position considering the depth he has available to him. However, he is likely to be catering for the injury Adlene Guedioura sustained, which will rule him out for a decent period of time. Nevertheless, Tachtsidis is looking forward to life as a Nottingham Forest player.

Tachtsidis will be hoping to make his Reds debut following the international break when they travel to Wales to face Swansea City. He says it is an ‘honour’ to join the two-time European Cup winners,

“It is a great honour for me to join such a fantastic club in Nottingham Forest. Everyone knows about the history of this club so to be able to pull on the shirt is a proud moment.

“It is a big club and I hope to make a big contribution during my time here. There is a very talented squad and I am excited to be a part of it and hopefully we can achieve some success this season.

“I have heard lots of things about English football.

“I know that this league is tough, it is physical but I know that I will fit in with this style.

“I like to compete and be strong, but I also like to play good football and with the players we have here, I know that this will suit me and I just can’t wait to get started.”
