“Good signing if he stays fit”- Ipswich Town fans react to James Collins links

James Collins is training with Ipswich Town, as reported by The72 earlier today.

The Championship side are considering offering him a contract as they look to bolster their defensive options and bring more experience into their ranks.

Their new manager, Paul Hurst, has been busy this summer putting his own stamp on the Tractor Boys. The former Grimsby Town and Shrewsbury Town boss managed to bring in Janoi Donacien, Matthew Pennington, Trevor Chalobah, Gwion Edwards, Kayden Jackson, Ellis Harrison, Jon Nolan, Jordan Graham, Jordan Roberts, Toto Nsiala, Tayo Edun and Jon Walters. However, there could be one last recruit in James Collins.

The 35-year-old defender left West Ham United at the end of last season following six years with the London side, where he had played 149 games all together.

Collins, who is a Wales international with 51 caps to his name, has also previously played for Cardiff City and Aston Villa. He has played over 400 games in his career and his experience could be vital for Ipswich Town’s young squad.

It is now secret that Ipswich’s defence has been leaky so far this season so the possible signing of Collins could help solve this. Here is how their fans have reacted on Twitter to the links-
