Atkinson joins Crewe

Crewe Alexandra have announced that they have made midfielder Chris Atkinson their second signing of the summer transfer window.

According to BBC Sports,  Atkinson arrives on a 2 year deal after impressing Railwaymen’s boss Steve Davis during the club’s pre-season.

Chris Atkinson was formally released by Huddersfield Town at the back end of last season after going out on loan to Tranmere & Bradford, During the 2013/2014 season he managed to get 32 games and 3 goals from his time away from the club.

The 22-year-old has become the second signing that Crewe have established after Rotherham goalkeeper Scott Shearer arrived at Gresty Road earlier on in the window.

Atkinson has made 76 Football League appearances in his career to date, scoring nine goals, while here is what he had to say via his twitter account:
