Hull City secured the loan signing of striker Chris Martin from fellow Championship side Derby County yesterday.
The Tigers have bolstered their attacking options by bringing the experienced forward to the KCOM Stadium for the season.
Martin, who is 29-years-old, had fallen down the pecking order at Derby County and is keen to hit the ground running at Hull City. He has spent the last two seasons out on loan at Fulham and Reading respectively.
His goal scoring record in the Championship is impressive and if the Tigers can play to his strengths, they could have a coup on their hands. Martin has scored 62 goals in 156 games for Derby in all competitions since joining them in 2013.
Prior to moving to the Rams, Martin started his career at Norwich City and played 117 games for them, scoring 34 goals. He also enjoyed loan spells at Luton Town, Crystal Palace and Swindon Town during his time at Carrow Road.
He is now looking forward to the next chapter of his career at Hull, who also delved into the loan market to sign Tommy Elphick on a season-long loan from Aston Villa, but were left frustrated as Middlesbrough pulled the plug on a proposed loan move for Ashley Fletcher just before the 5pm deadline.
Here is how the Hull fans reacted on Twitter to the loan signing of Chris Martin-

Two solid players in today, still think we needed a a defensive midfielder, but hopefully Martin will get us a few goals and Elphick will give us a bit of leadership. #hcafc
