Hull City in talks to loan Derby County striker

Hull City are in talks to loan Derby County striker Chris Martin, according to journalist Laurie Whitwell on Twitter.

The Tigers are in the hunt for a few signings today as Nigel Adkins looks to add more depth to his thin squad. Aston Villa defender Tommy Elphick is also set to join them and is having a medical ahead of his proposed loan move.

Chris Martin has fallen down the pecking order at Derby County and looks to get another loan move to a fellow Championship side. He has spent the last two seasons out on loan at Fulham and Reading respectively.

The 29-year-old striker has bags of experience in the Championship and would offer Hull more of a threat going forward. He started his career Norwich City and played over 100 games for them as well as enjoying loan stints at Luton Town, Crystal Palace and Swindon Town.

Martin joined Derby County in May 2013 and has scored an impressive 62 goals in 156 appearances for the Rams in all competitions. He spent the 2016/17 season on loan at Fulham, where he managed 10 goals in 30 games. Martin then spent the latter part of the last campaign at Reading.

Hull City are expecting a busy day today and could bring in a couple more signings as well as Martin and Elphick. There will be one departure from the KCOM Stadium today, with Kamil Grosicki set to join Turkish side Bursaspor on a two-year loan deal.
