Middlesbrough to make late move for West Bromwich Albion forward

According to Football Insider and reliable journalist Pete O’Rourke, Middlesbrough are to make a late swoop for West Bromwich Albion forward Hal Robson-Kanu.

Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis is reportedly looking for a reunion with West Brom striker Hal Robson-Kanu, who he signed from Reading in 2016 for the Baggies.

The forward finds himself on the peripheries of the starting eleven given the form of striking duo Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez, and could actively be looking for first team opportunities elsewhere, with Middlesbrough interested.

He has started just one of West Brom’s opening five games, but has made appearances in the other four games off the bench. He has made a good start in terms of goalscoring, despite only playing 129 minutes he has scored two goals, including a goal and an assists in just seven minutes on the pitch against Queens Park Rangers.

According to O’Rourke, Pulis is still looking to bolster his attacking options for the current Championship campaign, despite Britt Assombalonga, Martin Braithwaite, Rudy Gestede, Jordan Hugill and Ashley Fletcher all fighting for a starting berth.

Robson-Kanu is also able to play on either wing, as well as an out-and-out striker, and could be a useful utility man for a club like Middlesbrough. The Teessiders are yet to replace Adama Traore, who left for Premier League side Wolves earlier in the window, but could see the Welshman as a possible player to fill the Spaniards boots out wide.

It is still unsure whether West Brom will allow the forward to leave so close to the deadline, with so little time to bring in a replacement.
