Ipswich Town, Ipswich Town boss hopeful of loan signings before Friday’s deadline

Ipswich Town boss hopeful of loan signings before Friday’s deadline

Ipswich Town boss Paul Hurst is keen to bolster his squad before the loan window closes on Friday, according to the EADT.

The former Shrewsbury Town boss already has Trevoh Chalobah (Chelsea) and Adetayo Edun (Fulham) on-loan at Ipswich Town. Meanwhile, Janoi Donacien’s loan move from Accrington Stanley turns permanent once his work permit is cleared. The Blues added Jordan Graham to their squad, with the winger signing on-loan for the season from Wolves.

However, Hurst is keen to add further to his squad.

The Blues have been regularly linked to Blackpool defender Curtis Tilt and it seemed as though a deal was likely to happen. Although, Hurst today conceded that the deal has fallen through.

“I would have liked to (sign Tilt) but I have to say that’s looking very unlikely.” he said.

Despite losing out on the Tangerine’s star man, Hurst remains hopeful that he can improve his squad ahead of Friday’s deadline.

“We’re looking at someone who has a physical presence, certainly, and, if possible, someone who has experience alongside that,” Hurst said when asked about his search for a striker.

“But at the same time what you want in an ideal world and what you can actually get don’t always come together. We’ll see if we can make something like that kind of deal happen.”

Blues boss Hurst also revealed that the Tractor Boys enquired regarding former Norwich striker Cameron Jerome, but the former Canaries fan-favourite said he would not move to Portman Road because of his Carrow Road connections.

“He was one we enquired about certainly, yeah,” Hurst said.
