Sheffield Wednesday in talks with Chelsea playmaker over loan move

Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly entered talks over a loan deal for Chelsea playmaker Lucas Piazon, according to Goal.com.

Chelsea are keen to add to their army of loaned out players, and playmaker Lucas Piazon is apparently in talks with Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, as they look to agree a loan deal before the deadline on August 31st.

The Brazilian has spent the last three seasons playing in the Championship, joining Reading back in 2015, and playing for Fulham for the past two seasons. The playmaker has also been on loan spells in Spain with Malaga, Holland with Vitesse and Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt. Piazon has only made three appearances for Chelsea’s senior team despite being at the Stamford Bridge club since 2011, after joining from Brazilian side Sao Paulo for £5m.

Reports suggest that Wednesday are looking to complete a double deal, with Jamaican international defender Michael Hector also being lined up by Jos Luhukay. Chelsea are keen to let the 24-year-old leave for a fourth spell away from Stamford Bridge after joining Chelsea in 2015.

Wednesday have been forced to do their business late in the window, after their transfer embargo was lifted just a week ago. Jos Luhukay’s side have struggled without reinforcements, having won just once in their first four league games, leaving them in 17th position.

However, there have been some positives of the embargo, as some of the club’s youngsters have been given the chance to prove their worth. Matt Penney, Fraser Preston and Cameron Dawson all impressed in a strong showing against Millwall in midweek.
