QPR set to complete loan deal for Isreal Footballer of the Year

Early-season Sky Bet Championship strugglers Queens Park Rangers are set to complete a season-long loan deal for Isreal Footballer of the Year Tomer Hemed from English Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion according to Sky Sports sources.

The 31-year-old 32-times capped Isreal international striker is not expected to be a regular in the Albion side this season and is said to be available for transfer.

It has been reported that Sky Bet Championship bottom club QPR are trying to thrash out a season-long loan deal for the player with the club likely to be hoping that a move could be agreed before Saturday’s home fixture against Wigan Athletic.

Hemed started his career in his homeland with Maccabi Haifa where he scored 22 goals in 73 appearances. Spells in Spain with RCD Mallorca and Almeria followed before the striker joined Brighton & Hove Albion in summer 2015 for an undisclosed fee.

During his time on the South Coast, Hemed has found the back of the net on 35 occasions. The player has made a total of 97 appearances for Albion while he helped the club to a first-ever promotion to the English Premier League in 2016/2017.

Last season saw Hemed handed just 19 first team outings for The Seagulls and with the player not guaranteed first team football this term a loan move looks to be on the horizon with QPR reportedly interested.
