Nottingham Forest eye loan move for Championship winning Premier League midfielder

Nottingham Forest are reportedly eyeing up a loan move for Wolves midfielder Romain Saiss, according to Brimingham Live.

Romain Saiss is yet to feature for Wolves in their first two Premier League games, despite playing a crucial part in their Championship winning campaign last season. Nottingham Forest are ready to pounce, with the City Ground side reportedly looking to bring Saiss in on loan.

It has been no secret over the summer that super agent Jorge Mendes has been helping Forest go about their transfer business this summer, and has strong connections with Wolves through owners Fosun, manager Nuno Espirito Santo and some of their players.

The 28-year-old played 42 out of 46 Championship games as Wolves stormed to the title last season. Saiss is a versatile midfielder, and can fill in at centre-back if he is called upon.

There is still time for outgoings and incomings at the City Ground, with manager Aitor Karanka willing to let Zach Clough and Jamie Ward go. Striker Ben Brereton has been targetted by fellow Championship side Blackburn Rovers, and has been the subject of three bids, with the latest coming in at £8m. Forest are unwilling to sell their hot prospect, unless they receive a hefty bid for the youngster.

Saiss represented Morocco at the World Cup in Russia this summer, playing at centre-back. He frequently plays in defence for Morocco, playing just one game in midfield for his national side according to Transfermarkt.

The midfielder would provide Forest further midfield experience, along with another defensive option if needs be. Chances at Wolves be scarce for the midfielder, after midfielders Joao Moutinho and Leander Dendoncker came in during the summer window. A loan move to the City Ground would give Saiss desrved game time, and Forest would be picking up a solid, Championship winning midfielder.
