Norwich City take drastic measures in attempt to find first win of the season

Sky Bet Championship side Norwich City are without a win in the League and have taken drastic measures in order to try and mend their poor form.

Daniel Farke’s side currently find themselves 20th in the standings having drawn one game from their opening three Sky Bet Championship fixtures.

With pressure growing on the former Borussia Dortmund II manager, the Club have taken measures into their own hands as they try to give them every possible advantage.

In a supporters’ forum last Thursday evening, City’s sporting director Stuart Webber revealed the Club’s latest tactical movement.

Painting the away changing room in a “deep pink” colour has been done purposefully after American prisons also used the technique in order to lower aggression and boost empathy.

Meanwhile, the Canaries’ home changing room remains a bright white colour – littered with motivational quotes on the walls.

Whether the change of colour will work for Norwich City will only be known in the coming weeks, with the Canaries hosting Preston North End and Leeds United in their next two League fixtures.

Norwich City are not the only club to have used unusual techniques in order to boost their hopes, with former Cambridge United boss John Beck being renowned for his unorthodox plans.

Managing the U’s in the early 1990s, Beck had the grass cut at different lengths in order to make passes stick in the corners – suiting his side’s long ball style – throw buckets of cold water over his players to make them more aware and turning up the heat of opposition dressing rooms.

How incredibly unusual the tactics were, they clearly worked as Beck took Cambridge from the fourth division to fifth in Division Two, their highest ever finish, and to two FA Cup quarter finals.
