Aston Villa keen on loan deal for Liverpool winger

Aston Villa have enquired about loaning Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

The Championship side are also interested in re-signing Robert Snodgrass and Leicester City winger Marc Albrighton but deals for them could prove hard to complete.

Ojo, who is 21-years-old, is a move that Villa could conclude before the loan window shuts at the end of August. He is likely to leave Liverpool on loan again for more first-team experience.

He started his career at MK Dons as a youngster but was snapped up by Liverpool in 2011. Ojo has gone onto play 13 times for Liverpool’s senior side after impressing for them at all youth levels.

The tricky winger has also enjoyed loan spells in the Championship with Wigan Athletic, Wolves and most recently Fulham. He has racked up a combined 53 appearances during these three loan stints and has scored 7 goals in the second tier. Ojo was part of the Fulham side who were promoted to the Premier League last season under Slavisa Jokanovic.

This experience of a promotion could come in handy for Aston Villa this season if they can sign him. Villa, who are managed by Steve Bruce, have started the 2018/19 campaign well despite a difficult summer. They are in the hunt for some more reinforcements before the end of the loan window and Ojo is one deal that they are keen to get done.
