Charlton Athletic defender will be fit to face The Posh

Charlton Athletic caretaker manager Lee Bowyer is expecting on loan Arsenal defender Krystian Bielik to be fit for Tuesday’s Sky Bet League One fixture against Peterborough United at The Valley according to News Shopper.

The 20-year-old Poland youth international centre-back was taken off in the 90th minute of The Addicks’ disappointing 1-1 draw at Accrington Stanley on Saturday with a suspected knock.

Athletic boss Bowyer has confirmed that Bielik suffered cramp late on in the match at the Wham Stadium but the player should be ready to start The Addicks’ next fixture at home to Peterborough United on Tuesday evening.

Charlton Athletic took an early lead in Lancashire through a Karlan Aherne-Grant header but The Addicks were left frustrated when Jordan Clark slammed in an equaliser 12 minutes from time. The result leaves last season’s Sky Bet League One play-off semi-finalists in 12th position in the league table with four points from three league games.

Tuesday evening’s clash will see the South East Londoners take on a Peterborough United outfit which are currently flying in Sky Bet League One. Steve Evans’ side are top of the table after winning all three of their league matches.

The Posh have averaged three goals a game so far this season and beat Luton Town 3-1 at the ABAX Stadium on Saturday.
