Queens Park Rangers manager Steve McClaren has apologised to the club’s fans after seeing his side battered 7-1 by West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns this afternoon.
The R’s travelled to the Midlands on the back of two defeats to Preston North End and Sheffield United in the Sky Bet Championship and matters got much worse for McClaren’s side who were destroyed 7-1 by promotion hopefuls West Bromwich Albion.
Former Hoops winger Matt Phillips fired Albion into the lead before Joel Lynch levelled matters. The visitors conceded six second half goals in a major collapse which has resulted in them propping up the Sky Bet Championship table. Many fans are fearing a relegation dogfight following a worrying start to the season and R’s manager McClaren has issued an official apology to them after an unacceptable defeat at The Hawthorns.

QPR’s woes are not only in defence. The West Londoners have scored just once in three league matches while they managed just two shots on target against West Bromwich Albion.
Last season saw QPR finish in 16th place in the Sky Bet Championship table with just 56 points from 46 matches. While new boss McClaren is already coming under pressure, it should be noted that the club have failed to replace a number of experienced players which have left Loftus Road over the summer and a huge struggle could be ahead.
