“Excellent”, “Class”- Birmingham City fans react to Omar Bogle’s debut last night

Omar Bogle made his debut for Birmingham City last night in their 0-0 draw against Swansea City.

It was a game in which the Blues should have won and were on top throughout. However, the Swans clung in to gain another creditable result under their new boss, Graham Potter.

There were plenty of positives to take for Birmingham and Garry Monk will be pleased to see Omar Bogle and Gary Gardner make their debuts.

Bogle, who is 25-years-old, joined them on loan from Cardiff City and will be looking to hit the ground running at St Andrews. It is a good opportunity for him to get some regular first-team action and show what he can do.

He started his career in non-league with Hinckley United after spells as a youngster at West Bromwich Albion, Birmingham City and Celtic. Bogle moved to Solihull Moors in 2012 and scored 66 goals for them in 116 games in the National League North which earned him a switch to Grimsby Town.

Bogle then scored 19 goals in the 2015/16 season to fire the Mariners to the Football League and bagged a further 19 goals in League Two which made Wigan Athletic sign him in January 2017.

He spent just seven months with the Latics and has since had spells at Cardiff City and then Peterborough United on loan. Bogle now finds himself at Birmingham and will be hoping this can be his new home.
