QPR have announced the signing of defender Angel Rangel on their official club website.
The 35-year-old has signed a five-month deal with the London side.
QPR’s new boss, Steve McClaren, was keen to bring in some more experience into his youthful side. Rangel will slot in at right-back into their back-line after Darnell Furlong suffered an injury which will see him side-lined for three months.
Rangel left Swansea City at the end of the season after their relegation from the Premier League. He joined them in 2007 and had played for them for 11 years, racking up a total of 374 appearances.
The Spanish right-back became a fans’ favourite at the Liberty Stadium and helped them win the League One title in 2008, the Championship Play-Offs in 2011 and the League Cup in 2013.
Prior to moving to Wales, Rangel had spells at Girona, Sant Andreu and Terrassa. It was Roberto Martinez who signed him for Swansea and he turned out to be an inspired signing.
He is now looking forward to the next chapter of his career at QPR, who will be hoping he can use his experience to help them climb up the league.
Here is how their fans have reacted on Twitter to the signing of Angel Rangel-
