Rayo Vallecano and Werder Bremen keen on Stoke City midfielder

Rayo Vallecano and Werder Bremen are understood to be interested in Stoke City’s Geoff Cameron, according to the Independent.

European clubs can sign players on permanent deals until the end of August. Cameron has been told he can leave Stoke this month.

The 33-year-old, who has made 55 caps for the United States national team, has been linked with a move away from the Potters throughout the summer following their relegation to the Championship last season.

Cameron has played for Stoke since 2012 and is currently in his seventh season at the club. He joined them from Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo and has since played 186 times in a variety of different positions.

The American started his career with spells as a youngster at West Virginia Mountaineers, Rhode Island Rams and Rhode Island Stingrays before he was drafted by Houston Dynamo in the “MLS SuperDraft” in 2008.

He went onto play 148 games for them in the MLS prior to moving to Stoke City. Cameron could now be heading to Spain or Germany this month for the next chapter of his interesting career.

Rayo Vallecano are showing an interest in signing him. They are back in La Liga after winning the Segunda Division title last season and are looking to bolster their squad. They have recently signed Jordi Amat from Championship side Stoke City.

German side Werder Bremen are also keen on Cameron. The four-time Bundesliga champions finished 11th last season and are looking to improve and finish higher in this campaign.
