Leeds United have a reputation of promoting youngsters from their academy set-up at Thorp Arch into the first-team and beyond. That appears to be about to continue with the news of a new deal for Jamie Shackleton.
Shackleton is the latest youngster in the talent carousel to gain promotion to the first-team set-up with his début on Saturday in the 4-1 whipping of Derby County. He joins a current crop of youngsters such as Kalvin Phillips, Tom Pearce and Paudie O’Connor.
Others such as Lewis Cook and Charlie Taylor are both recent memories and now Premier League players. Go a little further back and names like James Milner and Fabian Delph can be linked back to Leeds United, Thorp Arch and Elland Road.
Fantastic, what a talent. Well done Jamie.
