Sunny Meadow Park saw a Watford side come out victorious over non-league Boreham Wood tonight.

Matej Vydra started up front for the Hornets in Deeney’s absence and it paid off as his deflected strike was the difference between the two sides in what saw a 1-0 win for Watford.

The Hornets will hope to push on for the upcoming season with a friendly against Coventry City and Udinese on the horizon before a season opener against Bolton Wanderers.
