Highly rated young Leeds striker bags second in two games on loan

Leeds United youngster Mallik Wilks has been making quite the impression during his loan spells. Today he’s notched his second in two games at Doncaster as his side went on to win 0-1. It completes a good seven days for the player who scored on his debut for the club last week.

Wilks is a very highly rated Leeds youngster who has come through the academy at Thorp Arch. Based in Leeds and someone who has shown some very encouraging displays in a few levels of youth sides at the club. Last season the decision was made that he would be loaned out and it was a brilliant start to his first-team career.

He was loaned to Accrington Stanley where he helped them massively as they went for the League One title. Although he didn’t stay there the whole season he scored some crucial goals, also bagging on his debut in the last minute to grab a huge point. He continued to come off the bench and make an impact and help the side collect valuable points.

Wilks headed south to Doncaster Rovers this summer and has had the perfect start. Two goals in two games and six points as well. The home faithful will be encouraged by the start the young striker will have made, as will the Leeds United fans. He is very much a  player that many fans and the club itself believe have a future at the club.

There will be a close eye kept on the player from fans and the coaching staff at Leeds United during this loan spell, League One is a huge step from League Two but he’s made it without looking phased at all, very encouraging for all involved.
