Transfer window over- but Middlesbrough could still bring in exciting premier league forward

Middlesbrough failed to complete the signing of Everton forward Yannick Bolasie, however, it is possible for the two teams to remain in talks over a potential loan move for Bolasie into the Championship for the 18/19 season.

The transfer window may have shut, however, deals are still expected to be completed. With Bolasie being told that he is currently a surplus to requirements at Goodison Park (Sky Sports), the 29-year-old is likely to want to seek a move away in order to get more game time.

There has been interest for the DR Congo international from several clubs during this transfer window including old club Crystal Palace wanting his return as well as Burnley voicing their interest. However, it has been suggested that Middlesbrough would be the ideal destination for him to regain a frequent first-team appearance. According to Sky Sports News, there has been talk regarding a potential season-long loan move with the option to buy at the duration of the season.

Everton signed Bolasie for £25 million in August 2016, he is now valued at £15 million which may have seemed too much for Middlesbrough, therefore a loan move may be ideal for both club and player alike.

In the 2016/17 season, Bolasie made just 16 appearances for Everton, scoring only once, however in the 15/16 season whilst playing for Crystal Palace, he netted 5 times in 26 appearances, proving the player has potential to perform.

Middlesbrough have started the season with one win and one draw from two matches and with Traore making a move to Wolves, could Bolasie be the man to bring some more much needed attacking spirit to The Riverside.
