Aston Villa cleared to sign Premier League striker, if replacement can be found

Aston Villa will be able to sign Watford striker Isaac Success on loan, if the Premier League side can sign another forward before the 5pm deadline, according to The Mirror. Steve Bruce wants to bolster his attacking options to provide more support to Jonathan Kodjia.

It has been a hectic summer for Aston Villa for several reasons. Things are turning in their favour now following the cash injection, plus it appears Jack Grealish is set to remain with the football club despite interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Sky Bet Championship club believe Success can be an asset, and he could be linking up for the remainder of the campaign.

The 22-year-old commanded a fee of just under £13million only a fee seasons ago when the Hornets parted with that cash when luring the player from Granada. However, it would be fair to say he has not lived up to those high expectations that come with those priced so highly. Although it is fair to say that he has only started two Premier League games in that period.

Tammy Abraham of Chelsea is another player that Bruce is keen to add to his squad. Clearly it is the striker department which is taking immediate priority. Other additions would be most welcome too, as it is only recently they’ve been able to add fresh faces to their squad, having lost several on the back of defeat in the Sky Bet Championship play-off final to Fulham at Wembley in May. It promises to be an exciting time for the football club.
