Hull City fans vent their frustration at lack of transfer activity on Twitter

With five hours and counting left of the transfer window, Hull City fans are becoming increasingly frustrated with their lack of transfer activity.

They have seen numerous first-team players leave the club this summer. Allan McGregor, Michael Dawson, Max Clark, David Meyler, Seb Larsson, Moses Odubajo, Adama Diomande and Abel Hernandez have all left the club. Loanees from last season such as Harry Wilson, Michael Hector, Ola Aina and Fikayo Tomori all returned to their parent clubs which has left the Tigers with gaps to fill.

Nigel Adkins has brought in six new signings this summer but it is clear that he wants and needs more. He has been set out on building a young and hungry squad who can develop as a team. This requires more permanent signings and more replacements for those that left Hull in the summer.

Their defeat against Aston Villa on Monday night showed it was clear that they need more numbers. A striker, winger, central midfielder and another left-back should be priorities for the Tigers today, yet there is no evidence of their owners having any intention to back Adkins with any more permanent signings and help out the team and give them the best chance of being competitive in the Championship this season.

Although you could argue that loan players could be on their way to Hull before the end of August, it begs the question why have they not invested in permanent signings who would help lay the foundations for the future? One or two loanees are useful but any more than that provide no sustainability for the football club whatsoever as they go back after a year, hence why the Tigers need a couple more permanent signings today.

Here is how the Hull fans have reacted on Twitter today to the lack of transfer activity-
