Midfielder spotted in Stoke City training kit- Deal done?

Stoke City target Sam Clucas has been spotted in their training kit today at their training ground ahead of his proposed £6 million move from Swansea City on Twitter.

He saw a move to Premier League side Burnley fall through last week but looks to have secured a siwthc to Stoke now with an announcement for the transfer seemingly imminent now.

Stoke have been busy in this transfer market as they look to gain an immediate promotion back to the Premier League this season under Gary Rowett. They have delved into the transfer market to sign Adam Federici from AFC Bournemouth, Eghenekaro Etebo from Feirense, Tom Ince from Huddersfield Town, James McClean from West Bromwich Albion, Ashley Williams from Everton and Benik Afobe from Wolves.

Clucas will be the next through the door for the Potters. He has got experience of gaining promotion from the Championship from when he was part of Steve Bruce’s Hull City side who won the 2016 Championship Play-Off final against Sheffield Wednesday.

Clucas played a key part for the Tigers in that season but could not prevent from slipping back into the second tier in 2017. He did however do enough to earn himself a move back to the Premier League that summer with Swansea but again was relegated last season.

Stoke’s aim is no doubt promotion and the signing of Sam Clucas is a very shrewd addition to their already strong squad.
