Jack Grealish will “never sign a contract with Aston Villa again” after club break his heart

The Mirror have reported that Aston Villa winger Jack Grealish has somewhat defiantly suggested he will never sign a contract with the club again, after they stopped him from making a dream move to Champions League side Tottenham Hotspur, whose £25m bid for the winger was rejected earlier.

The young winger was expecting a move to the Premier League side earlier in the window after the club found themselves in financial turmoil and were expected to let the winger move to the Premier League – as their largest asset.

Now that Villa have been bankrolled by new owners though, they’ve blocked Grealish from making a move to Premier League Spurs and although the boyhood Villa fan has had the chance to play for his club, they’ve prevented him from moving on to clearly bigger; and better things.

There has been much interest from Tottenham this summer for England Under 21 international  Grealish, following an impressive season for Villa in the championship where they narrowly missed out on promotion.

There had been talk that Spurs would pay Aston Villa’s valuation for Grealish this week, however, due to the new executive chairman Nassef Sawiris saying that the young midfielder was no longer for sale, the clubs were not able to discuss terms (Irish Times).

Tottenham are now expected to be on the lookout for new targets to add to their squad before the transfer window closes, with names including Manchester United’s Anthony Martial being on the potential list.
Grealish, who still has two years left on his contract has been described as being frustrated at the club due to them not being willing to let him leave, after being told that he would be able to leave if any suitable bids are received.
The young midfielder was given great support when he was substituted in the 83rd minute during his side’s victory against Hull on Monday, emphasizing that his popularity at Villa Park.
