Hull City could be set for an £8.7m windfall after huge transfer twist

Hull City could be about to receive an impressive £8.7m windfall according to the Hull Daily Mail, as Harry Maguire may be about to make a record-breaking switch to Manchester United from Leicester City in a deal worth £75m.

The Manchester Evening News have suggested that Leicester City value Maguire at around £75m and the Premier League side have just sealed moves for Freiburg’s Caglar Soyuncu and Dinamo Zagreb’s Filip Benkovic in two deals that are thought to add up to around £33.5m.

Leicester City are supposedly happy to hold onto Maguire – or let him go – given the fact that they have covered the defender’s position should he leave, and have clear reinforcements, should he stay, putting the ball right back into Manchester United’s court.

Hull City will be hoping that any potential deal for the defender does go ahead, with the Tigers having a healthy 15% sell on fee in Maguire – with the East Yorkshire side most likely wanting any deal to go through so they can strengthen in the 11th hour of the transfer window.

Manchester United are rumoured to want a new centre-back and Harry Maguire would quite happily fit the bill for Jose Mourinho – who is widely expected to bring one of Maguire, Jerome Boateng or Toby Alderweireld to Old Trafford in the forthcoming 24hrs.

Whether Mourinho can convince Manchester United to offer Leicester City a huge £75m deal that would bring the England defender to Old Trafford, remains to be seen, but Hull City fans will be hoping a deal goes ahead.
