Hull City miss out on two transfer targets- The clock is ticking

Hull City have missed out on two transfer targets as they look to bring players in before tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

The Tigers were said to be interested in signing Manchester City winger Brandon Barker. However, he has joined fellow Championship side Preston North End.

Barker spent last season on loan at Scottish Premier League side Hibernian, having the previous campaign on loan at Dutch Eredivisie outfit NEC Breda.

Hull have also been linked with a move for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Oliver Norwood, who Nigel Adkins managed when he was in charge at Reading. The Tigers saw two bids rejected for the Northern Ireland international as they were both below their £1.5 million valuation.

Leeds United have now taken advantage of Hull messing about in their pursuit of Norwood and are now in advanced talks with him over a move to Elland Road.

These are two big blows to Nigel Adkins and Hull City as they look to bring in some fresh faces before tomorrow’s deadline. The loan window will be open until the end of the month which Hull are likely to be active in with them trying to sign Lee Cattermole from Sunderland, as reported by The72 earlier today. However, it is important for them to sign some more permanent players as well to help lay down the long-term foundations for the club but the Tigers need to get their skates on if they are to bring players in.
