Leeds United are arguably the most discussed club outside of the Premier League in any area, transfers are no different. Today sees more links to Brighton midfielder Oliver Norwood, a player who would fit perfectly into the side in terms of style.
Norwood (27) is a very highly rated and very experienced player in the Football League. Chances aren’t forthcoming now he’s in the Premier League with Brighton and after helping Fulham to promotion last season it seems a move back down to the league is inevitable. Rated by many clubs but on a hefty wage, but certainly not out of reach of Leeds United, is a move to Elland Road likely?

It certainly fits the style of play being created by Marcelo Bielsa at the club. My worry with this is that Bielsa likes players to play in different positions, does he perhaps see someone else as back-up to Kalvin Phillips in the deep role at the club. The sale of Ronaldo Vieira has certainly left a hole to be filled, Mateusz Klich is the only other fit and first-team central midfielder.
Samu Saiz and Lewis Baker seem to be competing for the number ten role and Adam Forshaw is out for potentially two months, leaving the pairing of Phillips and Klich exposed. Others can play in that role if needed, Stuart Dallas actually came on in place of Klich on Sunday to play centrally. Oriol Rey, Jordan Stevens and Conor Shaughnessy are all central midfielders by trade, although the latter has impressed more as a centre-back.
Leeds may well look to a player like Oliver Norwood but like Angus Kinnear said last night, it looks more likely that loans will come in over permanent deals. Time will tell.
