Derby County, Derby County striker Vydra Czechs out with tweet

Derby County striker Vydra Czechs out with tweet

Matej Vydra is a class striker, that was abundantly clear from his days at Watford before stepping down to the Sky Bet Championship with Derby County.

However, it was clear that he wasn’t in the Pride Park plans this season, the Rams looking to raid Ipswich Town to bring in Martyn Waghorn.
With this no doubt being clear to both player and club, there little chance of Vydra staying at Derby County. That appears to be clear as day going by the following tweet from Vydra:

The above tweet was confirmed by the following from Burnley themselves:

This move brings to a conclusion a summer saga that has now seen the Czech striker now sign up with the Clarets and return to the Premier League.

Before this confirmed signature, Vydra was involved in a contorted and twisted take that saw him emerge as a transfer target for Leeds United.  A first round of negotiations crumbled amid stories of inflated wage demands.

With all that done and dusted, Vydra returned to Derby, only for Round 2 to surface with Vydra spotted in Leeds city centre enjoying the summer sun. Those negotiations failed with Vydra reportedly blaming Leeds’ inferior finishing position last season.

All this is immaterial now as the 21-goal striker looks to mix it in the coming season’s Premier League competition with Burnley. He will line up for the Clarets behind former Leeds United striker Chris Wood in an attack that will likely pay dividends for Clarets fans next season.
