Leeds United and Brentford keeping tabs on SC Amiens striker

Leeds United and Brentford are both showing an interest in signing SC Amiens striker Moussa Konate, as per a report by Get French Football News.

The 25-year-old striker has become a man in-demand this summer after scoring 10 goals in Ligue 1 for Amiens last season.

Leeds United got off to a great start to life under Marcelo Bielsa on Sunday after a 3-1 win over Stoke City. They are still keen on strengthening their squad before the end of the transfer window.

The Whites have so far signed Chelsea duo Jamal Blackman and Lewis Baker on loan, Patrick Bamford from Middlesbrough, Barry Douglas from Wolves and Jack Harrison from Manchester City, but are now targeting another striker and a central midfielder.

Brentford are also keen on signing Konate and will battle with Leeds to bring him to England. The Bees are many peoples’ dark horses for promotion this season and started off their campaign with an empathic 5-1 win at home to Rotherham United.

Dean Smith is looking for a bit more bite up front and another option, so could swoop for one before Thursday.

Moussa Konate started his career with Senegalese side ASC Toure Kunda de Mbour before he was snapped up by Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2011. He then had spells in Russia with Krasnador and Italy with Genoa before he moved to Swiss side Sion in 2014.

He was prolific for them in the Swiss Super League and scored 50 goals for them in three-and-a-half years. Since his move to Amiens, he has maintained this impressive goal scoring form, hence why Leeds and Brentford want to sign him now.
