Preston North End interested in loan deal for Huddersfield Town striker

Preston North End are being linked with a move for Huddersfield Town striker Collin Quaner, as per a report by the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.

The Championship side are keen on signing another striker before the transfer window shuts and have identified Quaner as a potential loan target.

Preston’s manager, Alex Neil, has so far signed Michael Crowe from Ipswich Town, Graham Burke from Shamrock Rovers, Andrew Hughes from Peterborough United and Ryan Ledson from Oxford United in this transfer window.

Collin Quaner could join them at Deepdale. The 27-year-old could leave Huddersfield before the end of the window. He played 30 games for them in all competitions last season but failed to score.

The German forward joined Huddersfield in January 2017 from Union Berlin and helped them gain promotion to the Premier League in his first season at the club.

Prior to moving to England, Quaner had spent his entire career in his native Germany with spells at Fortuna Dusseldorf, Bielefeld, Inglostadt, Aalen and Union Berlin.

Quaner is 6ft 3inc and would offer Preston another dimension going forward and a plan B. He has only scored 3 goals in his year-and-a-half with Huddersfield and is likely to be far down the pecking order next season in the Premier League.

Preston are many peoples’ dark horses in the Championship this season and they got off to a solid start by beating QPR 1-0 at Deepdale. The potential signing of Collin Quaner would further bolster their attacking options.
