Mangan signs for Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury Town have today signed 27 year old striker Andrew Mangan from Forest Green Rovers.

The controversial striker, who breached betting rules in 2009 was fined £2,000 and banned from playing any football for 5 months, made 9 appearances for Forest Green last season but did not score in any of the games he played in.

Manfan was most recently suspended by his club in October 2013 and his contract was then terminated in February 2014 by Forest Green. Luton Town then signed Mangan on loan for the reminder of the season.

With strikers James Collins and Scott Vernon joining the club in this season’s transfer window, Shrewsbury look to have a strike force that could rival any other side in the league, and could see them as being one of the favourites to gain promotion to League 1 next season.
