Jos Luhukay won’t deny more players will leave Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday head coach Jos Luhukay has not denied to the Sheffield Star that more players will be leaving the club.

The Owls are facing a number of financial problems this summer and it is widely expected that they will confirm that they’ve been placed under a transfer embargo on Monday when chairman Dejphon Chansiri takes part in a fans forum. This means it is likely that they are going to sell players this summer. Already, Jordan Rhodes has been shipped out on loan to Norwich City while Jack Hunt was sold to Bristol City.

And when asked after their 3-2 loss to Wigan Athletic, Luhukay did not deny that more players could leave before the end of the transfer window on Thursday. It is now expected that goalkeeper Keiren Westwood will leave the club after he was dropped from the first team line-up for the match against Wigan, instead being replaced by Cameron Dawson.

Luhukay said: “I always say you never know until the last day what will happen in the transfer window,”

The Wednesday fan base are already feeling incredibly negative after failing to sign any players this summer and seeing some of their star players leave could end up causing some real anger at Hillsborough. Fernando Forestieri and has been linked with a move away from Wednesday this summer and could end up heading away from the club before Thursday.

Sheffield Wednesday will hope to keep the bulk of their team for their next match against Hull City on the 11th August.
