Aston Villa are close to landing promising Manchester United defender

Aston Villa are close to landing promising Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe, according to The Sun.

The 6ft 1in  towering centre-half signed for Aston Villa on loan last January, but twisted an ankle against Cardiff in only his fifth game, ruling him out for the season.

Steve Bruce is close to bringing Axel Tuanzebe to Aston Villa on a season-long loan.

It is believed that the young defender will not sign in time for the opener at Hull tomorrow night but shoud be available for Aston Villa’s next game at home against Wigan.

Aston Villa are also in talks to sign Norway keeper Orjan Nyland, 27, from Germans Ingolstadt.

About Axel Tuanzebe –

Axel Tuanzebe is a natural leader and captained the Under-18 team as a first-year scholar at Manchester United.

Tuanzebe is an imposing figure who is comfortable in possession. The 2015 winner of  Young Player of the Year award was moved into the Under-21s ahead of schedule after making three substitute appearances at that level in 2014/15.

He trained with the first-team squad ahead of the pre-season friendly against Wigan Athletic in July 2016, with Jose Mourinho taking the opportunity to have a look at the promising centre-back, who earned praise from the manager after appearing in that game.

Tuanzebe captained the Reserves, showing his leadership qualities again, and his outstanding form in 2016/17 culminated in him being named the Reserve Team Player of the Year.

The promising centre-back signed a new contract to run until 2020, with the option of a further year, soon after his debut.
