West Brom set to miss out on two transfer targets to Derby County and Leeds United

West Bromwich Albion are set to miss out on two transfer targets.

The Baggies had shown an interest in signing Chelsea right-back Ola Aina on a season-long loan. However, Derby County have swooped in and are now set to win the race for him, as reported by The72 earlier today.

It seems the lure of Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has ultimately turned Aina’s head. The 21-year-old has already got Championship experience having spent last season on loan at Hull City. He played 44 games for them in the league.

West Brom are set to be a dealt a double blow in the transfer market with Leeds United set to beat them to the loan signing of Manchester City striker Lukas Nmecha, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Baggies were hoping to sign him to give them another option going forward but will now have to identify other targets. Nmecha is highly-rated by the Premier League champions and has already played twice for their first-team so far in his career.

West Brom have been busy in this transfer window as they look to mount a promotion push back to the Premier League next season. Their manager, Darren Moore, has made some decent signings in Sam Johnstone from Manchester United, Jonathan Bond on a free transfer, Kyle Bartley from Swansea City, Tosin Adarabioyo from Manchester City, Conor Townsend from Scunthorpe United and Harvey Barnes from Leicester City.

They will be in the hunt for some new signings as well before the window shuts.
