Formation: 4-4-2

It is likely to be a familiar shape for Bournemouth under Eddie Howe in a 4-4-2 this season. Expect new signings Callum Wilson, Junior Stanislas and Dan Gosling all to come into the starting XI as the Cherries look to improve on their 10th place finish last saeson. The focus will remain the same with an expansive brand of passing football with both full-backs looking to overlap their wingers and provide quality service from the wide areas. There are two areas that might change from the norm. Firstly, at right-back Adam Smith may take the starting berth although Simon Francis was outstanding last season. Secondly, away from home the Cherries may revert to a more compact 4-5-1 and attempt to counter on teams at pace as they did in the second half of last season after some big away defeats early on in the season. Despite this the common shape will be a straight up 4-4-2.

Agree completely with this as their best X1 for most home games apart from Stanislas, i would like to think he'd be more of an impact players off the bench as he doesn't have the requisite ball and link up skills that Fraser or Pugh have whom i would start ahead of him. It's a good signing from Howe though as a very fast and direct winger is something Bournemouth didn't have last year
