Former Nottingham Forest, Huddersfield and QPR striker signs for Oldham Athletic

Former Nottingham Forest, Huddersfield and QPR striker Ishmael Miller has put pen to paper on a 1-year-deal with Oldham Athletic, confirmed by the club.

Ishmael Miller joins Oldham Athletic on a one-year deal after impressing whilst on trial.

Oldham manager Frankie Bunn is no stranger to Ishmael Miller having worked with the striker at Manchester City, where Miller began his career.

Miller will link up with his new strike force on Saturday against MK Dons. Frankie Bunn has added to his squad with the loan signing of highly-rated young striker Sam Surridge on loan from Premiership side Bournemouth. Also, former Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest and Barnsley striker Chris O’Grady joins Oldham on a one-year-deal like Miller.

O’Grady knows Andy Rhodes well as they worked together at Sheffield Wednesday where they won promotion to the Championship in 2011/12.

Also, Jonathan Benteke penned a one-year-deal with Oldham Athletic.

About Ishmael Miller –

Miller started his career at Manchester City, but after two years the striker signed permanently for West Bromwich Albion following a loan spell in which he helped them win the Championship in 2007/08.

The striker managed to make 80 appearances for the Baggies, helping them once more to reach the Premier League after winning the Championship title in 2010/11 before moving to QPR on loan.

After his time in London, he signed for Nottingham Forest and has also had spells at Middlesbrough, Yeovil Town, Blackpool and Huddersfield Town.

He has also featured for Bury in League One two years ago.
