Stoke City, Everton could hand Stoke City midfielder a Premier League lifeline

Everton could hand Stoke City midfielder a Premier League lifeline

Everton are targeting a move for Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye, according to the Express and Star.

The 27-year-old only joined the Potters in January from Galatasaray for £14 million but could not prevent them from relegation to the Championship.

Stoke City have had a decent transfer window in terms of incomings. They have brought in the likes of Eghenekaro Etebo, Tom Ince, Adam Federici, James McClean and Benik Afobe but will now switch their attentions to outgoings.

Their new manager, Gary Rowett, has suggested in recent days that players will be leaving Stoke before the end of the transfer window as they look to shorten their squad and balance their books.

Badou NDiaye is a player who could leave the Potters after just eight months at the club. He has been linked with a move back to Galatasaray so far in this transfer window along with Premier League new boys Wolves, but it now appears that Everton have joined the race to sign him.

The Toffees will be busy over the next week or so before the transfer window shuts. Their new manager, Marco Silva, will be looking to add some more faces to his newly inherited squad and could aim to boost his midfield options with the signing of NDiaye.

The Senegal international could be handed a Premier League lifeline after only playing 13 times for Stoke in half a season at that level last season. This is a story to keep an eye on over the next few days.
