Hull City make moves for new players- Still keen on Premier League midfielder

Hull City have offers on the table for “three or four” players, according to Hull Live.

The Tigers are keen to further bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming Championship campaign. They have so far signed Eric Lichaj from Nottingham Forest, George Long from Sheffield United, Jordy de Wijs from PSV Eindhoven, Todd Kane from Chelsea, Reece Burke from West Ham United and David Milinkovic from Genoa.

Their manager, Nigel Adkins, wants a new left-back to add some more competition for Stephen Kingsley. They were keen on Scunthorpe United’s Conor Townsend but will now have to look for alternative players after he moved to West Bromwich Albion.

Adkins also wants a new winger, central midfielder and striker before the transfer window shuts. His side were after Jiri Skalak from Brighton and Hove Albion but have also lost out on him to fellow Championship side Millwall.

Hull have also made moves for his Seagulls’ team-mate Oliver Norwood but have seen their two bids rejected by the Premier League side. The 27-year-old played under Adkins at Reading but the Tigers’ bids have fallen below his £1.5 million valuation.

Adkins is a big fan of Norwood and was full of praise for the Northern Ireland international in his press conference this morning, but was not giving anything away.

It is likely that the Tigers will move once again for Norwood as they look to strengthen their ranks. They kick-off their season at home to Aston Villa on Monday night and are hoping for a positive start.
