Todd Kane wants to earn permanent move to Hull City

Hull City’s Todd Kane has told the Hull Daily Mail that he wants to earn a permanent move to the club.

Kane moved on loan to Hull earlier in the summer but is still contracted to Chelsea. The 24-year-old defender is yet to make his debut for the Blues and instead has been loaned out eight times to teams such as Blackburn Rovers, Dutch side NEC Nijmegen and most recently Oxford United.

And that elusive first team place back at Chelsea looks more unlikely than ever now. Previous head coach Antonio Conte had been a fan of Kane and had considered giving him a first team spot but now that he has been sacked, Kane’s chances of breaking into the first team look bleak. And with his contract set to expire this summer, he has come to terms with the fact he is set to leave West London. But Kane is now hoping to impress on this loan with Hull so he can earn a permanent deal with them.

He said: “It’s a good club with a good opportunity to get back up to the Premier League,”

“I know the manager and what he’s done for young players at Southampton and Reading.

“I’ve heard good things about him and from the outside it looks like a good club for me.

“I believe the club thinks how I think and it’s about getting back to the Premier League.

“I’ve come here with one goal; to be in the top six. That’s it. We’ll take it game by game but I believe this club should be fighting in the play-offs. The top six is my goal.”
