Abraham, Aston Villa looking to sign Chelsea striker on loan

Aston Villa looking to sign Chelsea striker on loan

Aston Villa are looking to sign Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham on loan according to a report from the Birmingham Mail.

It seemed for a long time that Villa weren’t going to be able to sign anyone this summer. Following their failure to get promoted last season, Aston Villa faced a number of financial problems due to the way they spent in previous seasons. However, things are about to change for them. They have had new owners come into the club and this means they can once again spend money and bring some players in.

With there just being a few days until the start of the new Sky Bet Championship season, Villa are now in a rush to bring in some new players. One position that head coach Steve Bruce is desperately trying to improve is up front. The club have a number of their strikers out with injury at the moment and a new striker would certainly help out until some of those players can return to full fitness at a later date.

And the striker Villa are trying to sign is Abraham with the club recently getting in contact with Chelsea about bringing him in on loan. The young striker is seen as one of the Blues’ top prospects though he was unable to stop Swansea from being relegated last year when he was on loan with them. He rose to prominence the year before when he became of the Championship’s top scorers at Bristol City. But with Abraham wanting a move to the Premier League, he may turn down any potential move to Villa.
