As with all things, the proof of the pudding is in the tasting and that kind of extends to football transfers – the proof of the transfer is in the picture.

That’s proven (below) with Leeds United winger Hadi Sacko being pictured in Gran Canaria Airport after arriving to tie up the loose ends of what is expected to be a season-long loan deal from the Whites.

Sacko is an affable character who first came on the Leeds United radar when he was pictured, snazzy hair cut and all, lurking at the back of Leeds United’s tour of Ireland ahead of the 2016/17 season.

His first season at Elland Road gave fans a glimpse of what he offered in his raw, blistering pace that allowed him to ghost past defenders with ease. This allowed him to net two goals and provide four assists. However, it also highlighted his rawness, his oft-scattergun approach and wayward final ball. Indeed, the hashtag #squareitHadi had a brief resurgence.

His only contribution last season, where he largely played a bit-part, was an excellently taken goal where he easily outpaced former White Charlie Taylor in Leeds’ Carabao Cup win over Burnley.

In total Sacko has made 60 appearances for Leeds United since his arrival from Portuguese giants Sporting, initially on loan and then a £1.5 million permanent deal.

With it being obvious that the raw, pacey winger was not a part of new manager Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team plans this season, a move out on loan is the best for both parties.
