Sky Sport Italy tweeted out that Serie A side Sampdoria have interest in the 20-year-old, going as far to mention a price that they see fit to bring him in – €7 million/£6.2 million. This tweet seems to consolidate news coming late last week from an Italian source that Vieira was being eyed up by the Serie A side.
As reliable Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay has reported the news, the comments have come flooding in from United fans.

People are only upset because he came from the academy. Look at his performances last year and during pre-season. He's not been at it 12months now. Yes he has potential but Bielsa sees him as a back up option. £7m for a squad player is good business

Would be a mistake to let him go and not the right message to send out to @lufc fans . Especially with injury concerns with Forshaw. He is a great talent that Leeds need to keep and harvest.

Bad move for Leeds

There is no ‘firesale’ necessity at Elland Road as there has been previously, therefore there is no real need to sell Ronaldo Vieira. Leeds United fans see him as a valuable asset, as you would a player of his calibre. Many Leeds fans seem to treasure the youngster like a part of the family silver, but others seem to believe the youngster is overrated, and only highly valued amongst fans because he graduated from the Whites’ academy.
