Sheffield United hoping to get busy in the transfer market over the next few days

Sheffield United are hoping to get busy in the transfer market over the next few days, as per a report by the Sheffield Star.

The Blades have so far signed goalkeeper Dean Henderson from Manchester United, John Egan from Brentford and David McGoldrick on a free transfer.

Their manager, Chris Wilder, now wants to add some more attacking options to his side. His squad finished just outside the Play-Offs in the Championship last season and are aiming to build upon that decent position in the next campaign.

Sheffield United have been heavily linked with a move for Ipswich Town striker Martyn Waghorn. However, it appears that Championship rivals Derby County are leading the race to sign the £8 million-rated forward who bagged 16 goals last season for the Tractor Boys.

Another striker who has been linked with the Blades in this transfer window is Scott Hogan. The Aston Villa man has never quite hit the ground running at Villa Park and the Blades were looking to give him an escape route.

Highly-rated Liverpool winger Ben Woodburn is also a name being mentioned in regards to Sheffield United. The 18-year-old could leave the Premier League giants on loan this summer for some first-team action and could move to Bramall Lane.

It is set to be a busy week ahead for Sheffield United as they look to further strengthen their side ahead of the upcoming Championship season. Their fans will be hoping that their side can pull off a couple of surprises with a couple of new attackers.
