Not here again are we? Leeds fans will want to see the back of the Matej Vydra saga, preferably with the player holding up one of the new kits. That might not happen though and reports this morning are that Leeds will move on known target Patrick Bamford next, if Vydra doesn’t come off.
Vydra was spotted in Leeds on Thursday afternoon, there was little doubt about where the picture was taken or who was in it. The club then refused to comment on the situation when asked by Lee Sobot of the Yorkshire Evening Post. To round it all off Alan Nixon revealed a deal of around £40k per week for the player was close to being agreed, an £11 million fee to Derby.

Leeds don’t do business fast, ask the fans. This summer has been particularly frustrating, starting with Marcelo Bielsa. As other clubs began signing players Leeds were still deep in negotiations with the Argentine coach. Eventually he decided Leeds would be his destination, was it worth the wait? Yes, and if the Vydra deal comes off it will be a very similar situation.
The reports this morning are that Leeds will move on Patrick Bamford if the Vydra deal doesn’t come off. Leeds’ interest in Bamford was revealed on Wednesday by Phil Hay, the first attempt at signing Vydra had led the club to look at other targets, Bamford being one of those. The striker isn’t a typical Tony Pulis striker and he may not be part of his plans going forward.
I honestly try not to run anything without checking it out first. Interest in Bamford is true

Bamford is a totally different player to Vydra. The striker likes to get in behind and play on the shoulder rather than drop and link up play. Leeds are still keen on West Ham Unites striker Jordan Hugill, an out-and-out target man and number nine, that would almost certainly be a loan though.
The situation needs resolving, something Frank Lampard declared on Thursday, because this isn’t doing anyone any favours ahead of the new season.
