Three strikers who Peterborough United should sign to replace Jack Marriott

Peterborough United are now in the hunt for a replacement for Jack Marriott, who has left them to join Derby County. Here are three strikers they should target-

Kayden Jackson, Accrington Stanley- The 24-year-old forward was a crucial part of Accrington’s promotion from League Two last season. He bagged 16 goals for them and was a real handful for defenders in the fourth tier. Prior to moving to Accrington, Jackson had played for the likes of Swindon Town, Tamworth, Wrexham and Barnsley. He looks to have a bright future ahead of him and would be a shrewd signing by the Posh.

Jayden Stockley, Exeter City- The 6ft 4inc striker scored 24 goals in his all competitions for Exeter City last season. He would offer Peterborough United another option going forward and a plan B in games. He joined Exeter last summer from Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen but the Grecians could face a battle to hold onto him this summer. He fits the bill of the type of players who Peterborough opt to sign as he is young, hungry and has a point to prove.

Ivan Toney, Newcastle United- He impressed on loan at Scunthorpe United in League One last season and scored 8 goals for them in 16 games. Toney could leave Premier League side Newcastle United again in this transfer window and Peterborough United should try and bring him to London Road. He has previously had loan stints at Barnsley, Shrewsbury Town and Wigan Athletic in the past and has got bags of experience in the third tier despite still being 22-years-old.
